This first inspirational person I'm going to talk about knows the definition of being yourself and being original.
That person is Lindsey Stirling!
Lindsey's story started on season 5 of America's Got Talent. At the auditions, she described herself as a hip-hop violinist, which is just out of the ordinary. Stirling meshed two elements that, at first glance, seemed incompatible and made a impressive performance that was unique and intriguing. I wanted to see more.

Lindsey moved on to the Vegas round and ,then, the quarterfinals, where she was eventually eliminated.

After her quarterfinal performance, the judges didn't think she was good enough
and it seemed like her career was over.
However,
Stirling bounced back, continued to be who she wanted to be and started uploading videos onto Youtube. Her popularity took off as millions of people watched her original songs and, in a matter of 5 months, her song, Crystallize, garnered more than 23 million views.
Here's her music video for her song, Crystallize (all credit goes to Lindsey herself):
In an article by DailyMail UK, Lindsey Stirling comments on her success by saying, "Through my unique style of playing, I want to prove that you don't have to conform to be accepted. The greatest value comes from loving yourself for who you are. A lot of people have told me along the way that my style and the music I do . . . is unmarketable. But the only reason I’m successful is because I have stayed true to myself."
Today, Lindsey Stirling continues to make music with the violin and integrates hip-hop and dubstep elements. She released a new album in August of last year and it is called Brave Enough. The album peaked at number one on Billboard US for Top Classical Album, Best Dance/Electronic Album and Top Internet Album. Her Youtube channel is still going strong with over 8 million subscribers. Congrats to Lindsey!
Lindsey's story shows you have to be yourself and you have to find your passion, no matter how weird or bizarre it may be. It won't always be easy but, as long as you work hard and continue to be who you strive to be, you will find success. Most importantly, be who you want to be!
